  Processes of making cabinets

The processes of making piano lacquer and wood veneer cabinets are different. Normally, piano lacquer needs to paint 7 layers. The paint thickness can reach 2 mm. Therefore, the cutout for drivers, port and terminal are done after paint process.
A: wood veneer cabinets

Sanding
1.Cutting MDF. MDF (middle density fiber) is the most popular material when making speaker cabinets. The original size is 4' by 8'. We have to cut MDF in different proper sizes.
2.Cutout. The drivers, port and terminal cutout is done by CNC or cutout machine.
CNC
3.Cabinet assembly. Assemble different pieces of MDF to a cabinet.
4.Laminate veneer. Use glue to laminate veneer on the cabinet.

5.Pressing. To keep veneer adhering to cabinets firmly, we have to compress on every side. The compressing time is about two hours. If the shape is curve sided, we have tool some molds to compress veneer completely.
6.Base paint and sanding. There are many tiny holes on veneer. Base paint can fill the holes and sanding can make the surface smoother. We always repeat the process two or three times.

7.Coloring. The color of veneer is very light, therefore, coloring process can have veneer showed in different colors. For example, yellow for cherry, red for walnut, and black for ash. Of course, customer can choose any color they like.
  8.Drying.
